Bruno Mathsson designed the Saga seat and backrest between 1974 and 1982, always with the objective to create the ideal chair for the modern work place. When the chair was launched in the early 1980s, office work had started to dominate over and a seating was becoming an increasingly important part of the ergonomic work environment.
