Bruno Mathsson designed the Saga seat and backrest between 1974 and 1982, always with the objective to create the ideal chair for the modern work place. When the chair was launched in the earli 1980s, office work had started to dominate over and a seating was becoming an increasingly important part of the ergonomic work environment.
The ergonomic benefits of the chair together with its compact shape lead to international sales successes in the early 1990s, particularly in dental- and medical markets.
Today, the chair is as popular among office workers as with medical, dental and other professional groups which spend their working days in a sedentary position. The chair is appreciated, not only because of its ergonomic features, but also for its unique clean lines and high quality.
